IKEA Vindriktning Air Quality Sensor

Interesting… might be related but my situation is slightly different. I stay connected to the device, no problem… it just reports as 0 µg/m³ until I light a candle… at which point it jumps up before going back to zero… so I know the device is connected to the network and (in theory) “sniffing”.

I think that you might have a power issue as well, as I suggested it to him. I cannot remember how it is wired and where and what the D1 Mini requires regarding power. And to be honest, I would rather use a device with an ESP32 module nowadays, one which has Bluetooth as well, to operate as a Bluetooth proxy.

This D1 Mini has both 3v and 5v (which is what I connected to).

I’ll go poke around my electronic shop tomorrow and see what other ESP devices they have. Thinking I might try swapping over to ESPHome instead Tasmota and see if that makes a difference too.

Thanks again for your replies.

I’m having a similar problem.
Connected the vindriktning and some extra sensors like a ccs811 and bme280 to my D1 mini V4. When power the device trough the USB of the vindriktning everything seems to be working fine except that the D1 wont connect to the wifi.

But… When i reset the D1 (with the button) the D1 reboots (which is only possile when the fan isn’t spinning) and after that it connects perfectly.

Hoever, this isn’t a good solution since i cant reach the button when everything is assembled.

The vindriktning does have a sort of boot sequence so maybe it’s possible to delay the boot of the D1 until the vindriktning has booted by soldering some output of the vindriktning to the reset pin of the D1?

I wander if someone knows if that’s a good solution and what output i need to solder.
