iLMeteo.it — Home Assistant integration for the Italian weather service

If you’re based in Italy and use iLMeteo.it as your primary weather reference, this integration brings its data natively into Home Assistant — current conditions, daily forecasts (up to 6 days) and 3-hourly forecasts, as a standard weather entity, just like OpenWeatherMap or Met.no.

How it works: iLMeteo’s REST API is reserved for business customers. This integration uses the three public forecast box widgets that iLMeteo provides for embedding on third-party sites — parsed server-side. No token, no account required.

Features:

  • Native weather entity with genuine real-time current conditions
  • Daily forecast: min/max temperature + precipitation probability from iLMeteo’s own official daily summary box — not derived from hourly samples
  • Hourly forecast (3-hourly): temperature, apparent temperature, humidity, wind, precipitation
  • Automatic day/night condition handling
  • Multi-location support: each city is a separate instance
  • 8,218 Italian municipalities selectable from cascading dropdowns (region → province → municipality)
  • Optional dedicated sensors for long-term statistics (temperature, humidity, wind, daily min/max, precipitation probability)
  • Weather alert notifications, on by default:
    • Heuristic thresholds (extreme heat/cold, strong wind, storms, hail, high rain probability) derived from the same iLMeteo data
    • Optional Protezione Civile source via the DPC Alert integration by caiosweet
    • Persistent notifications + optional mobile push + ilmeteo_weather_alert event for automations
    • Deduplication across restarts: notified once when an alert appears or worsens, not on every 30-minute refresh
  • UI configuration only — no YAML, no token
