Why is it connecting to alerts.home-assistant.io to “request alert data”?
ERROR (MainThread) [homeassistant.components.homeassistant_alerts.coordinator] Error requesting homeassistant_alerts data: Cannot connect to host alerts.home-assistant.io:443 ssl:default [Timeout while contacting DNS servers]
I only saw this as my DNS was offline.
Is it a hard coded bug ?
No it is not a bug.
You seem to be confusing alerts with the notification action.
Alerts will inform you of urgent security or other serious vendor issues that affect your system. It has nothing to do with the Nabu Casa Cloud service.
