I’ve added my Ring Doorbell and Floodlight Cam to Home Assistant using the Ring Integration.
I’m trying to trigger turning two lightbulbs on when motion is detected on the floodlight cam, but the only triggers are as follows:
The floodlight comes on after dark when motion is detected so I’ve tried both “Light Turned On” and “Motion Sensor Turned On” as triggers but neither trigger works.
Any suggestions?
Have you come across the Addon called Ring-MQTT with Video Streaming
I’ve been using it instead of the builtin Ring support and can use Motion events on a doorbell to turn on outside lights. Might be worth trying to see if it exposes more functions for you on your floodlight.
Do you use both, or do you just use Ring MQTT?
Just Ring-MQTT.
I never got the built in integration to work as well, though it was some time ago.
