Hi everyone,
I would like to share a custom integration I developed for Inim Electronics alarm systems (SmartLiving, Prime, Sol, and others) communicating directly with Inim Cloud.
Most existing solutions for Inim systems have traditionally relied on standalone bridge scripts running on separate machines, third-party compiled binaries, or manual MQTT configurations. The goal of this project was to create a native, all-in-one Home Assistant integration that connects directly to the cloud service without requiring an MQTT broker or any external background daemons.
The integration maintains a persistent, encrypted WebSocket connection alongside REST API calls, allowing Home Assistant to receive real-time state updates immediately whenever an alarm triggers or a scenario is changed from a physical keypad or the official mobile app.
Security was a primary focus during development. Passwords are never stored in plain text inside Home Assistant configuration files; instead, credentials are encrypted at rest using AES cryptography tied to the unique identifier of your specific Home Assistant installation. Furthermore, all cloud communications strictly enforce TLS certificate verification.
Everything is discovered dynamically from your Inim Cloud account. The integration automatically imports your panels, physical zones, and scenarios without any hardcoded identifiers. It creates a standard alarm control panel entity compatible with native Lovelace cards, HomeKit, Google Assistant, and Alexa, alongside a dropdown selector to trigger any available scenario directly and binary sensors for physical zones and diagnostic faults. An options flow is also available through the user interface, allowing you to easily map your custom scenarios to standard disarmed, armed away, armed home, and night states.
You can install it through HACS by adding the repository as a custom integration: GitHub - mantovanellimatteo/Home-Assistant-INIM-Alarm: Home Assistant custom integration for INIM Cloud alarm · GitHub
Once installed and Home Assistant is restarted, simply navigate to Settings > Devices & Services > Add Integration, search for Inim Cloud, and sign in with your account credentials.
The initial release (v0.1.0) is available on GitHub. Any feedback, testing reports with different Inim hardware models, or suggestions are very welcome.
