Reaching out for some suggestions from the community on a project I am looking to test out. I am trying to combine an e-ink dashboard functionality with a raspberry pi assist voice satellite for my bathroom.
I just purchased and am waiting on the 7.3” (800 x 480 pixel) Inky Impression E-Ink Screen.. My plan is to hook it up to a Raspberry Pi with a Respeaker Lite. I was looking for suggestions on ways to integrate the two. Also I know the refresh time is 12 seconds on here, but having it show a message with the voice response similar to what I have working on my ESP S3 Box would be awesome.
I just received mine and want to create a HA dashboard to display on it. Before I try to code my own thing, I was curious if anyone else had already done that. From what I can tell, this project posted to the Pimoroni forums is the closest thing I’ve found, except it’s for the Inky Frame and not the Inky Impression. It seems like there are some differences such as the LED, SD card, and battery power that come with the Frame, whereas the Impression obviously requires a Pi or Pico to run. Maybe this project could be modified to work with the Impression, but I’m not sure quite yet.
Additionally, I found this project on Github which seems to support both HA and the impression, but it only has three commits and hasn’t been updated since last year. I may try it either way to see if it does what I want and report back here.
