Input_number vs input_boolean in Google assistant

hi, input_boolean is an abandoned, seems now we need to use input_number
i need that domain for my dimmers
but according to this website : https://www.home-assistant.io/components/google_assistant/ i cant expose it yet ?
is input_number not yet supported?

by dimmer I guess you’re talking about lights? Do your lights in HA not support dimming natively? If they do you can simply expose your light and ask GA to set the light to xx%. Certainly works for me

Hi, no , my dimmer lights are not native

I needed to create input_nunbers for this , to send hex values to my IP controller…
I just want to expose that domain, but I think it’s not supported yer

Really? What makes you think it’s abandoned?

Why don’t you create a template light instead of using an input number. A light template simulates a light with brightness attribute.

Also, input_boolean is not abandoned.

Indeed , I was wrong it was input slider that was abandoned… Gonna have a look at template light

Thnx

Template light is indeed a good idea, will be exposed as a light indeed…
I am now using cover for my window screens, it’s exposed as a switch, so with on/off instead of up/down…
I see there is also a template cover, will it be exposed as a cover instead as a switch

it would be exposed as a cover if you use a template cover.

Ok, not an option then

Input slider became input number
