Thanks for reading.
I am trying to migrate my old SmartThings network to HA. I am running a HA Green with both a ZWA-2 and ZBT-2 since my home contained a mish-mash of Z-Wave and ZigBee devices.
The challange has been adding some new dimmer switches to the netwok. I have been trying to get a pair of Schneider/Square D Z-wave plus dimmers added with no luck. I first tried scanning the QR code using “add device” on the android app. After many hours it never shows up. When it didn’t show up I then tried exluding it, but that process stalled. It did show up as a listed device but when i dig into it, I see the “The device has been provisioned but is not included in the network” at the top…
So… after a few go arounds of this I tried to remove it from the network entirely by factory resetting and manually removing it… that process stalled as well.
And here’s the strange part; after all the attempts when looked at the network it seems that over half the devices that had already been migrated over were showing as dead.
I told it to rebuild (a mistake I’ve been informed) and that got many devices to work agian… but then the dimmer came and went from the overview pannel obout once a minute… and the history showed over 120 “device was factory reset” notifications.
I then though it must be a bad dimmer so I replaced it, but the new one is having the same issues.
I’m really new at this, still trying just to get everything from my old system connected and add a couple smart switches. Until I can at least get everything added it’s too early to even think about automations and scripts (the whole reason to migrate in the first place)
What am I missing? I’ve spent 2 days going over the documentation and can’t find what I’m doing wrong.
TIA
