I live in a UK apartment which - like a lot of other UK New builds - has a district heating system. Ours is billed by Insite Energy, so I’ve built a small integration which pulls energy and billing data from the insite portal into Home Assistant. If anyone else here has the same supplier - feel free to use it. I’ve tried to make it very easy to add to the Energy Dashboard
I also attempted to directly connect to the wmBusMeter, but haven’t had much success - I get the feeling it only sends an update once a day. If anyone else has had better luck on more real time updates, I’d love to hear it.
AI disclaimer: I’ve a software engineer by trade. The core logic for this was purely written by hand, and I’ve been running it for about half a year. I did use AI to help clean it up into something I could publish online. The code is very small if you want to audit it yourself.
