I am trying to get HA working on RPi. I think I am following the instructions correctly. But it finishes saying “Verifying write failed. Contents of SD card is different from what was written to it”. I have tried several times. I have tried with 2 SD cards, both brand new and unused 128GB A2 cards.
Nowhere does it seem to tell me what format the card should be (FAT, exFAT, NTFS etc.) Or what block size to use, or whether I can use quick format or not.
I hope someone can suggest what to try next.
Follow whats above, but just to add the format of the card will make no difference as the imager which ever one you use will format the card as part of the process. My guess is you have a faulty card. SD cards fail often.
Thank you for your answers. Yes, I am using Raspberry Pi Imager. Is it really likely that if I buy 2 brand new SD cards they will both be faulty? How long do I need to go on buying them until I find one that works? I thought these things were meant to be fault tolerant, i.e. that the formatting process would find faulty segments and exclude them from the formatted card. Is this not the case?
