Installing 2022.7.2 from 2022.6.6 - But install is going on 1+ hours

I clicked update to go to 2022.7.2 and my Home Assistant Blue wont complete the install - it says installing …forever (ok for a few hours now).

I dont have any off-box backups, just the automatic backups in the \backup directory.
There was one made today of course.

I clicked on backup and told it to make a full backup and am waiting on that to complete (no way to know if it’s really running, it’s on the Create Backup dialog after I clicked create with a spinner spinning. UPDATE: “Creating a backup is not possible right now because the system is in freeze state”

How can I determine what to do now?
Is it being installed to a temp directory, then flipping once done?
Can I stop the install?
