Installing an in Ceiling Presence Sensor in Small Bathroom

Hello all

I Hope you are Well.

I will be getting some Electrical Work done soon, including replacing Shallow Light Switch Back Boxes and adding a Neutral WIre to the Landing Light Switch.

I am also looking at moving the Wiring for the Bathroom Light Switch, which is currently a Pull String, to a 2 Gang Light Switch on the Wall outside the Bathroom.

Then I am thinking of having a Presence Sensor installed, in the Ceiling, where the Pull Light Switch was, this is where I am uncertain of something.

The Presence Sensor that I have Purchased is this one:

Presence Sensor

This Presence Sensor uses Screw Fixings for the Wires rather than the Push Button type which I am not a fan of.

If I place the Presence Sensor where the Pull String Light Switch is, will this cause issues as it will be relatively close to the Wall, 150mm (ish)?

Or, would I just be able to adjust the Sensitivity so that it does not detect Human Presence outside the Bathroom?

Any thoughts…

Thanks in advance

Kevin

I put mine in the centre of the ceiling. That way the beams/waves cover the full room. The only issue I’ve got with mine is that it is not smart enough to continue sensing presence if you stay still and turns the lights off. I will be changing it in the future as device accuracy improves.
