Installing Frigate requires access to /addon_configs/ccab4aaf_frigate/config.yml?

I’m running HomeAssistant OS on an Intel NUC.
I have installed the Frigate add-on, but in the documentation it says:

You must create a config file at /addon_configs/ccab4aaf_frigate/config.yml (click here to learn more on how to access this directory).

I only have access to the “/homeassistant” folder (where configuration.yaml is stored) and its subdirectories, I don’t know where “/addon_configs” is.

I have watched this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cRjKu0Y6USY , where it is suggested to create a file called config.yml (and not frigate.yml) alongside configuration.yaml, which I have tried, but I suspect the video is out of date, hence it’s not working.

Any suggestion?

You might find some outdated info around the web because Frigate recently changed the location of the configuration file from the ‘main HA config folder’ (\config - which is what you call /homeassistant) to the sub-folder ccab4aaf_frigate-fa in \addon_configs (which is on the same level as \config which is why you can’t get there from the File Editor Add-On). The name of the frigate configuration file was changed from frigate.yaml to config.yam at the same time.

I use the Samba Share add-on to access it from my Windows PC as it provides access to all Home Assistant foders, you might want to look into that.

If your Frigate installation starts with the standard/sample configuration you can also edit its config.yaml file by goin to the Settings - Configuration Editor menu option:
