I want to run HA on SSD. So I placed the image on it with RPI imager. All works fine, PI boots from SSD, after a while I can see on the PI terminal that all is okay.
However, when I then try to enter my new account credentials everything stops. The HA URL is no longer giving me access, also not if I enter the fixed IP address. Tried 3 times now reinstalling everything but keep running into the same issue? Anything I can check or do differently?

The information you provided is much too sparse to let the community help you in a useful way.
You might want to read the basics about “How to help us help you - or How to ask a good question” and provide us with more relevant information about your system, install method, showing logfiles etc.?
RPis are extremely picky with power supplies and sometimes that is not even enough.
The power requirements are pretty close to the power input capacity, so you need a stable power supply rated at the correct voltage and amps.
The RPis are also designed so they aren’t able to provide full power to the USB ports, on high means the first troubleshooting steps suggested are often moving USB devices to a powered USB hub.
