Reading your earlier comment, you mentioned pins 1/2. It might be pins 7/8 (A/B) similar to the EG4 batteries. I think luxpower inverters are 1/2 (B/A). That said, I don’t find any definitive documentation for the RS485 bus for your inverter.
The adapter should also clearly show if you are on ch-1 or ch-2 depending where you wired it up…
I recently switched from modbus over the WiFi dongle to rs485 for one of my FB21 inverters. The difference in reliability is amazing.
Now I want to do the same for my GridBOSS. I can’t find clear guidance on doing it. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Not sure it's possible with GridBOSS without hijacking/replacing the HDMI dongle.
Hi there. Not sure how to ask a question here - sorry if I'm messing things up. My son has an EG4 hybrid inverter and has all sorts of configuration options. I just bought a 12000XP and got it connected to home assistant both with the cloud and directly. it shows a ton of status info but not a single switch or input field. I suspect its how I have the inverter programmed - I'm trying to get used to the way they set things up. In any case, I have dual rate power and solar so in the summer (when I have banked power) I want to charge the batteries during the day and winter will charge at night. I really hope to get your settings connected up. Thanks for any advice you can share on what I need to change.
Maybe your case is similar to this one. And probably will be solved in next beta release. At least you should try with the latest published beta.

And I only have Sensors and Diagnostic in the system, devices, inverter section. The weird part is that it is a 12000XP but I guess they have new versions that can deal with 15k for short bursts. I didnt think I had that, but I guess maybe I do. I am trying the 3.4.0-beta 16. I'm not sure how to point HACS to fix/issue-259-actions-for-12000xp, so thought maybe this would do it? Unfortunately it did not. Can you let me know how to point to the fix? I see I can create a custom repository in HACS but dont know what I'm doing...
So one more question that I am hoping you might know. I have dual power pricing with weekdays between 8am and 8pm at about $0.21 per kwh and the rest of the time is around $0.10 per kwh. Our utility pays banked power (fortunately its 1:1 up to 500kwh banked) on Dec 18. So from then to early March, I pay a lot for power. I am hoping to use your settings to update whether battery only power is used during the day when my peak sensor is under 500kwh and use battery on weeknights when peak power is over 500kwh. I have a sensor called Use_Solar that is set based on that rule each morning. I am still trying to figure out the EG4 settings but my son has a switch that says off grid mode. If my inverter has that same HA switch, that might be the easiest way to deal with this? Please share any advice you have. For the past few years, I also have HA to turn off the water heater and my car charger during weekdays when not using solar which is on the opposite times.
Some Luxpower models has improved with firmware upgrades, in my case local supported informed that in next firmware my LXP that only supported 10kW on GEN port will allow more. You should check with support from your country to check if your model has upgrades enabled by software updates. Maybe as they is already indicated as 15kW on web site can be the case.
Older version of HACS apparently supported to install directly by using branches. In newer versions I did not have success searching for this option.
I recommend that you wait a bit more for the beta17 release by @blink_la
On luxpower website for my LXP they have some features like peak shaving that can be configured by times and apparently EG4 also has this options, your should check if your model is compatible Exploring the EG4 18kPV Inverter’s Working Mode Feature - EG4 Electronics
Times are not available now at this integration, but you can change some modes when your model is correctly detected on the integration.
I did not have timed costs here, but I control some charge/discharge based on other appliances, like heater, ev charger etc...
Thanks for the details Ivan. I suspect it will be a lot of experimentation right away to get the right mix of settings at the right times. Unfortunately my son is building a house and is entirely off grid, so I really can't mess with his without his family being upset with me! It will be interesting to see how the switches impact the modes reported by the eg4 software.

I do have a question, my setup is Flexboss21 and GridBoss. I am finding it difficult to get the write whole house current watts consumption - all I have tried are all wrongly calculated and wanted to see if anyone has done so.
I am on FAB-2727 on the flexboss21 and using Waveshare to connect the flexboss to HA and I have these sensors on exposed on Homeassistant.

Happy Monday to you. I have the 12000XP which is a fair bit different - and its all new so still getting used to everything. It seems like you are looking for instant watt usage rather than energy used. What I have found super helpful is going to Settings, Devices & Services, EG4 Web Monitor, then click on the inverter. It will list all the options available to you. Look for those ending in W (watts) to see which ones look correct for your situation. I too am very impressed with this project and am looking forward to being able to update the control area once the next beta release is pushed to the home assistant repositories.
So i did finally get Solar Assistant connected directly to my eg4 12000xp. From that i can pull data into home assistant.
I had to modify the rs485 to usb cable that came with my chargeverter to use pins 7 and 8 on the rj45 instead of 1 and 2. (Try wires 1 way if they dont work, then flip 7 and 8) Plugged into ct1, which is the top middle port. I have this connected to solar assistant, set to Luxpower for the inverter.
