Hi, did you tested this feature?
The most important thing I would like to know is the following:
If I activate the hold-back-latch function, does it mean that when i unlock the device through home assistant “unlock” service it will ALWAYS use this function, thus phisically opening the door? Is there any chance that this will be implemented so that you leave the unlock service to “just unlock” the door and another service to “unlock + hold-back-latch” that will phisically open the door?
From my understanding, the NUKI door lock applies the second scenario (lock, unklock, open), but I don’t know whether this is applicable to the exposed entities in home assistant, either by the NUKI integration or by the zigbee Danalock pairing, assuming that the last one might have this possibility
There was offered new FW version 0.20.2 to me today. I’ve flashed it to Danalock and testing now.
Five hours runninig without dropping off yet. Seems quite fresh - version number has not changed but version in file name is new.
Is it known what difference in the new version is? Have anyone tried the stability already?
Has anyone added the Danapad into the mix with their Danalock? I like the idea of Danalock from a design standpoint, but I’m looking for better remote access than “everyone install HA”, so the Danapad seems the go, but I want to know if it integrates with HA (or if you’d really need that anyway).
So last year my dad got 3 of these locks and we’ve had nothing but issues with them since then. They drop off the zigbee network after 1-2 days and the batteries constantly run out. We’ve had them replaced once from Danalock but unfortunately we’re still having the same issues. I set everything back up this week, re-added all of the locks to HA and set up an automation and the next day they stopped working again. We’re kind of at a loss as to what to do because we did have to buy special cylinders for these locks so we can’t just switch to another smart lock. So far it’s been a huge waste of money. We’re using Home Assistant OS with the Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 Dongle and ZHA. Every other device works without any problems.
Strange, don’t know if Conbee II and Deconz would work better, that’s what I use and it’s super stable and battery life is great.
Do you have any zigbee lights (for instance IKEA Trådfri) fairly close to the locks?
They work as routers for your end devices (your locks) and perhaps having that would make your zigbee connections more stable.
I’ve contacted Danalock support and received a reply from them in August:
We are aware that some of our Zigbee versions have an issue with disconnecting from the Zigbee network. Our developers are working on a fix for this. I cant give you an ETA on when the firmware will be released, but it is in development.
Regarding the battery drain, we advise customer with the Danalock V3 Zigbee to exclude the lock from Zigbee and only use the BT connection until the firmware is ready.
And in October:
Our developers are working on it. It’s currently being tested internally, so we hope to have it ready for release soon.
You are completely right. And I’ve been lucky enough to get my hands on one of the locks with the new firmware on it, which should be launched soon. It works flawlessly, a completely different class than the problems I have had so far with with this lock, that it disconnects from zigbee!.
I haven’t experienced a single problem yet, have had it for a few weeks. Look forward to the new firmware update!
That sounds promising, @josh8200!
An update I received today:
We are currently testing a beta version of the FW and it looks promising. We hope to be able to release the FW officially soon, but I can’t give you a exact date.
I have still not experienced any issues.
I dont know if its updated within the app on the FW version (on my beta-lock), however it says FW 0.20.2 atm. → I can update to 0.20.6.
However as long as I have no problems, I would rather stay with the 0.20.2 for a while.
I would like to add to my previous message that the battery is also draining terribly fast: 50% in 48 hours. Really thinking to sell it and buy something else.
So with the latest fw the issue is not resolved?
Btw may i ask your coordinator and whether you’re using extender?
And do you use z2m or zha? @sim186
Thinking of getting the zigbee one but your comment makes reconsider it
I have my Danalock V3 for about 6 months now. The battery is still at 76-80% and the connection is stable. I have the Zigbee one and I am very happy with it. I even printed my own adaptor for our Abus lock (European style) and using a modified key.
It’s not even particulary easy to rotate the key, as we have a Plastic door, that only seals correctly when fully locked. This causes the key to be very hard to turn at the end of the locking process. Nevertheless the Danalock powers through that. We only lock our door at night, so your milage in battery live may vary.
I am using Conbee II with ZHA.
