Motion Sensing from switches like this one:
Has this been implemented? I’m considering buying a few smart switched with motion sensors but I’d like to use the sensors for other automations as well.
Leviton has been adding Matter over WiFi support to a number of their 2nd Generation devices, I have the basic switch and a dimmer in use (that I bought for testing, since they are sold at Home Depot, but decided to not expand using them), both running Matter (a vast improvement over the Leviton cloud integration)
As far as the model you’re looking at in this thread, it is listed as being Matter certified only a few weeks ago, but I don’t know if the motion sensor appears as a separate, actionable entity.
Good to see that it supports Matter. My DN6HD-1BW does not and it’s pretty slow unfortunately, connected via HomeKit it’s better but there’s still a few seconds of delay between when I press the switch and when Home Assistant registers it. I hope they get Matter support soon.
Sorry to say, but it looks like the DN6HD-1BW will likely not be getting Matter support (only the 2nd generation WiFi devices that don’t require a bridge are getting it)
From Leviton’s FAQ:
Will my other non-Matter Decora Smart Wi-Fi devices receive a Matter upgrade, and if so, when?
Matter is being enabled with a firmware update for Decora Smart Wi-Fi 2nd Gen devices in phases. Additional Wi-Fi 2nd Gen devices are planned for future updates. Decora Smart 1st Generation Wi-Fi and HomeKit devices are not being updated to support Matter.
I wrote support and they said the team was investigating the possibility with no definitive answer for the moment. I won’t hold my breath but it’s no big deal.
