Intellifire (Wifi Fireplace Module) - Hearth and Home

Lol. You trying to get me banned?

A clever fix for sure! I know some installers will wire the fireplace itself into a switched outlet as well.

If you’d like, we can fix this for you and it would be free for the part. As part of our warranty program we do cover some labor for the installer also (have them do the knee work). See my note above on the process to do so if its of interest.

Is it automated that if the intellifire goers offline you have the switch tweak? (I do that with my RACHIO sprinkler system cause it DOES go offline sometimes)

Thank you Garrett,

Your interaction here is a breath of fresh air. If only other manufacturers were as switched on as you guys.

The WiFi module was replaced approximately a year ago as part of a tech visit to reset the controller (it was not starting the fan).

Is there a way to determine the version number?

It wouldn’t make sense to replace it if I had the latest/greatest.

cheers,

chris

Have not.

Next time I get the ECM offline error, I’ll have a lookie see.

The ECM’s (main fireplace controller) version is printed on a sticker that’s covered up when a WFM (WiFi Module) is connected to it. Based on what you’ve mentioned, it’s very unlikely you have the latest ECM version. I say this because we wouldn’t see any ECM Offline issues if the latest version were in use (still possible to have other issues, such as “Appliance Offline” AKA disconnected from internet/cloud server).

I’d expect you’d find V2.1.2 or V2.1.8 on the sticker, whereas V2.1.9 is the latest.

Hope this is helpful! Appreciate the kind words as well, thank you.

Garret - did you guys ever toy with getting a “Works with Home Assistant” certification for intellifire?

I looked at it, but I think we’d have to assume ownership of the integration from you. Shoot me an email whenever, we could arrange a meeting with the team and discuss.

Hey Garrett,

I’m guessing you cursed me. My ECM went offline yesterday, and for whatever reason my “brilliant” solution of a switched outlet didn’t worked.

So, I collected all the appropriate info and sent y’all an e-mail.

Thank you again for all your assistance.
