Interacting with Xiaomi Honeywell Smoke Detector?

Is it possible to trigger the Xiaomi Honeywell Smoke Detector from HASS? The gateway can send test command to the device so it seems communication to the device is possible. It would be nice to be able to use the device as a siren in automations, for example to make ALL connected smoke detectors sound when one is triggered.

This isn’t possible and won’t be possible in future most likely.

I’m sorry to hear that! :frowning: Both Popps smoke detectors with Z-Wave and some 433MHz smoke detectors have this feature. It’s a good way of using existing devices for several activities.

I was also wondering why we just get battery sensor… A bit disappointing

I assume the device don’t have other sensors like temperature etc.

Where do u see temperature?

Would be Nice if this is possible

I don’t think the device has temperature sensor.

Nope they don’t but why not remotely fire the alarm sound …hmmmm

@thundergreen any update on this one?

nope still nothing supported but the binary sensor

You think its a matter of, we just have to add the support in a release?

Or they can’t access the ‘triggers’ on the detector itself?

I just bought two of these and can’t get them to connect to anything. Is there some type of hub or gateway required?

yes, you need a zigbee gateway to connect…

Any news on that? It would be awesome to use those smoke detectors as siren or just to signal events.

Any update on this topic or any recommendations for smoke detectors that are working with Hass io (Zigbee) and are providing this Feature ?

Hi! I know this is an old topic, but I noticed there is some development on this front!
