I don’t know if it’s coincidence or not, but last few days the iOS app has been prompting me almost every launch to enable location. I have had this setting off for past 2 years, but all of suddend its asking constantly. I just got an Apple Watch, is that the culprit (HA app is not installed on the watch).
I select Less Secure. Do not allow option on the second screen, but app keeps prompting me every few launches. And iOS location settings are set to Never for HA app.
It probably is the Apple Watch, especially if you have location services setup for it to use FindMy. It’s a GPS hog that could be prompting other Apps.
It’s not-so-much that the HA App is seeing the watch, it’s that location services on the phone is constantly being triggered because of the watch, which could be prompting other Apps on the phone to confirm location service details.
Have you tried a good 'ol fashioned shutdown/restart on the phone, yet?
I gave up using the Apple location (on either/and/or watch Iphone) as it used far too much battery on my watch. I only use the HA Companian App as location of my wife and of mine.
Trust me, I get it. My iPhone pet peeve is when it automagically logs out of my email in the mail app/settings and forces me to confirm the password. Happens like once, maybe twice, a year to me. lol Apple has it’s quirks.
