Hi, I’m having an issue with the Home Assistant Companion App on my partner’s iPhone.
When location sharing is set to “Zone name only”, her device tracker shows not_home, even though she is physically at home. If I change it to “Precise location”, it immediately changes correctly to home.
On my own iPhone, the Home Assistant app shows the Home zone under Location settings, including coordinates, radius, and the option to track arrivals/departures. On my partner’s iPhone, the Home zone is completely missing from that section.
Things already checked/tried:
- Location permission set to Always
- Precise Location enabled in iOS
- Background App Refresh enabled
- Manual location update
- Restarted the app and iPhone
- Reset frontend cache
- Reset the app entity database
- Removed and re-added the phone in Home Assistant
- Both users are administrators
- The Home zone and radius are correct
The location log shows in_zones: [] and location_name: not_home when using Zone name only.
Has anyone seen this before, or found a way to force the iOS app to resync Home Assistant zones without using precise location permanently?
