I am new here and I am a little frustrated so I hope someone can help me
I have Home Assistant green installed. I can connect to it via the Mac and windows Compainion app no problem (both hardwired), but when I try to connect to it using either my iphone or my iPad it will not connect
I have read here and tried Turing off private addressing and it made no difference; I have made sure my VPN is off and it made no difference.
My Home server is hardwired and my mobile devices are of course wireless (you can see the setting page from the HA
I am hoping it is something stupid… You can see the fing - ping in one of the attached images that is successful. so I am lost..
Is it a new install? The default port changed from 8123 to 80 some weeks ago. Try removing :8123 from the url and try connecting. 80 is the default port for http so you don’t need to specify it.
I solved the problem, but I do not understand why… maybe someone can give me a tip
I have my a hard-wired network set to 192.168.10.x and that is what the HA is attached to. I have a separate wireless network that I put all of my wireless home automation devices on that allocates address on subnet, 192.168.20.x,
the .10 network and the .20 network talk to one another without a problem (in fact it has to or things would not work…
My iPhone was connected to the SSID that maps to the .20 wireless network it would NOT connect to HA but as you saw above, it would ping no problem. Once I switched my SSID to one that maps to the .10 network it connected just fine!!!
