I’m having the same issue. The app crashes immediately.
I’m using an iPhone 14 Pro Max on iOS 16.1
According to Ai this is the issue:
What’s happening: The app crashes during startup while trying to initialize the Realm database. It’s hitting a null pointer dereference (trying to access memory address 0) when loading Swift class metadata.
Crash log highlights:
· EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV) at 0x0000000000000000
· Crash occurs in swift_getSingletonMetadata → +[RLMSchema sharedSchema]
· Happens during app initialization (main thread)
Likely causes:
Corrupted Realm database - App’s local data may be damaged
Swift class initialization issue - Circular dependency or race condition during startup
Migration problem - Schema changed but migration handling failed
I am having the exact same issues on a iPad Air running iPadOS 15.8.6. Works fine on my iPad mini running iPadOS 26.1 and works on my iPad Pro running iPadOS 17.7.8.
same here as well with iOS 16.7.2 on iPad 8th Gen …
And anyway, already with the previous version of the iOS App Companion, many menus either didn’t display at all, were displaced out of the scope of the screen, were missing text which only would come back after sweeping your finger were it ought to be or showed half crippled and absolutely irresponsible ( case in point the automations 3 points menus, for instance, made imposible switching the UI to YAML ).
