IoT is mostly sold for conditioned space use, i.e. normal living space temperatures.
But there are good applications of IoT where temperatures are not as nice, i.e. much lower and/or higher.
All IoT needs power. Today I’m looking for a USB power adapter which is guaranteed to reliably work down to -30C. Where I live it sometimes gets cold and I don’t want my stuff breaking on those days. I’ve seen at least one of my adapters not work below 55F!
And most adapter companies don’t even specify an operating temperature range at all.
I’ve found a few possible solutions:
This one is rated to -20C, but minimum order is 200 units.
Here is one rated for -30C from India. Not sure how to get it here.
Here is a USB hub rated for -40C.
Any other IoT gear that you know of which is rated for low ambient temperatures?
