Hi, When I first installed HA at start up it recognised my Epson ET-4550 WiFi printer and added IPP to my system as part of the startup configuration. In it I could see all the details of my printer.
I've rebuilt several times for a variety of reasons and every time I got Bluetooth and IPP added right at the start without doing anything.
I've just rebuilt and this time no IPP. I've tried several times and when I go in to manually set up it doesn't appear to have a WiFi option. I'm now wondering how it seen this in the first place but more importantly I can't add it now. Now I noticed a HACS function that does the same thing but it was working before without that and before I install the HACS version and get it up and working I'm wondering why did it work before, why did it stop and am I able to use the core version rather than an add on?
WallyR, They are both on the same network and I did think the printer had gone to sleep so I switched it off and then back on before a couple of the builds. Plus I was actually printing on it during one build. Did I mention I hate networking. I've not sacrificed enough small furry animals to Dark Gods. Seems very strange behaviour.
Is there any way to get the printer in the right state and then trigger HA to look?
OK. Not sure what went wrong here so going to put it down to stupidity. I added it without issue using IPP and entering the IP. Discovery obviously didn't like it. Not sure why.
I looked at the version in HACS and although it lists the ink settings and if the printer is in use or not my printer doesn't appear to have a cleaning cartridge or if it does it doesn't have a value for it.
Anyway I'm going to just us the core app and when it is upgraded then I pick up the new settings.
