My HP inkjet printer was discovered automatically and shows ink level and idle/printing state changes.
The printer spends most of its time off and is therefore unavailable. Once it is on it goes first to state idle. Great!
But HA pops out a notification that a new device has been discovered. This device is the exact same printer. So I just have to dismiss the notification. Maybe this only happens during a restart of HA when the printer is on. Not sure at this point.
The printer has a fixed IP address and is connected to my WiFi network.
It would be nice if the printer was not rediscovered in this way, but I have no idea what is causing it. Any ideas?
