Hi, A newbie here requesting some help.
I have had HA running until yesterday when there was a network disrpution.with several network connected device losing there connection.
HA on Rpi4B…I have replaced the original HAOS with new and now get IPv4 for wlan0: No address, likewise for end0.
The router dns is enabled.
Primary DNS is 185.232.11.1 & secondary …2.
Where do I go from here please…totally confused.
Thanks
Come on guys, there must be somebody who could help…
Not much to go on based on the limited information you give. From what you say it seems like you are not getting an IP from your router. Have you tried another cable?
There are a multitude of ways to install Home Assistant. Did you use the Pi Imager program to install Home Assistant or did you complicate the installation with Proxmox or other VM?
I would get another MicroSD card and install Raspian to make sure your Pi will connect to your network.
Hi Steveman,I have done that and i get an Ip address.
I used the rpi imager. The thing is that i have had ha working until last sunday and then the rpi seems to loose the ip address
That verifies that your Pi hardware is OK.
How do you know?
Connect a monitor and keyboard to the Pi- it should show you the IP address of Home Assistant.
Note- While it will work, running a Home Assistant server over WiFi is generally discouraged.
Steveman,
OK, I have verified that the rpi is OK, when I now insert an sd card with a fresh rpi image, in the scrolling set up there are at least 2 failed messages with the code. One something about Network manager… IP scanner show the rpi as ‘OFF’ and I can’t access HA.
Any further suggestions?
Thanks
Connect it to your network with a cable.
Hi fleskefjes
The rpi is connected to my network with a cable.
Have you tried a different cable like I suggested?
The rpi was OK and detected with an sd with just the rpi OS
Sorry, I missed that part. Try another re-install of HAOS, besides that I have no clue ![]()
OK, thanks
Do you suggest using the RPI imager to install HA or some other means?
Try this if you know the IP address of your router (gateway).
Don’t use your previous primary & secondary DNS - I suspect your issue is that you are using your (Spanish) ISP’s DNS services, and that they somehow blocked HA from resolving DNS.
Use something without such limitations, like Cloudflare (1.1.1.1) or Google (8.8.8.8) DNS
