Is installing home assistant on PC with virtual box better than on Rpi

I am trying to install home assistant for a school as a social service, so that the operator can control
22 Air-conditioners from one tablet.
I am not considering which hardware to use for such installation to be as much stable as possible.
I am thinking of using a high performance PC running windows and HA as a virtual box.
Will it be a good option ?
Thanks in advance !

Hi @chanlu, it depends a little on perception.

You surely don’t need a fullblown, high performance PC to control 22 devices.
Running Windows + virtualization software, just to run HA is overkill and not the best choice either.

A RPi will do just fine for this but the only thing is that, when you use a SD card it can become corrupt.
There are options though to minimize the chance of corrupted SD cards.
