Is it still possible to update Z-Wave firmware from a file rather than the database?

I have a Mixtile ZZM01 Z-Wave/Zigbee mini-PCIe module. The actual interface is via a CH342 USB to dual serial IC. The module is currently installed in a mini-PCIe slot and Z-Wave JS UI is running under Home Assistant.

I’m pretty sure at one time you could browse for a firmware file. It now appears to be fully automated. The manufacturer/distributor has published firmware, but has not completed the formal submission process for Z-Wave JS.

Is there still a way to update firmware from the Linux command-line or do I have to try the Windows-based SiLabs toolchain? I do have a USB to mini-PCIe carrier.

Yes.

From HA: Device page → Device info → … → Update (basically same instructions from your GitHub link)

From ZUI:

  • For devices: Control Panel → Device entry → Advanced → Firmware update → Begin
  • For controller: Control Panel → blue floating button → Advanced actions → Firmware update OTW → Update

From CLI:

Thanks. The blue floating button worked.

It does nothing for functionality, but I added my own device configuration for display purposes.
