Hello all,
Is there a way to remove or disable the media intents:
HassMediaPause, HassMediaUnpause etc.
I have custom scripts that I want to run and I am currently having to use longer sentences to avoid triggering the default inbuilt intents when using speech with assist. If I could disable these intents it would make the sentences required simpler and avoid the need to remember the correct phraseology.
None of my media players are exposed to Assist yet it still defaults back to these intents as standard.
This integration has a feature that could use some more active promotion: Home Control API:
Scroll a little bit down on the readme to find it.
It’s a replacement that can be alternatively be selected instead of the „Assist“ toggle in a voice assistant configuration (which allows control over HA).
In the configuration of the integration, you can alter the system prompt, which is normally not editable by the user and you can disable tools provided by HA that you don‘t want to use.
Thanks @Thyraz,
I installed and disabled all the media commands and set home control api instead of assist. However I still got the response ‘I cannot pause the bedroom as there is no media player in that area. Would you like me to pause a different zone or help with something else?’
Whilst the phrase
Pause roon player in bedroom Worked fine.
So it still looks like it is using the default media intents. Note: None of my media players are exposed to assist.
Hello,
I solved the issue by turning off “Prefer handling commands locally”, This fixed the issue without the need for Tools for Assist to be installed. It now works in Assist as well. It seems the disabling of the media items in Tools for Assist did not override the local commands.
That said the search functionality the Tools for assist (ie the abilty to do a web search is interesting).
I am about to go slightly off-topic here and ask an unrelated question about the integration, I have just setup a proxmox container to run searXNG and have pointed Tools for assist to the instance. However whilst all is working ok, I don’t any useful info as the search is return a list of links rather than specific info.
For example if I ask it for the latest football scores. I get the response "I can’t provide the latest football scores as the search results don’t include specific scores. You can check BBC Sport’s football scores page for the most up-to-date results.
I assume this is a limitation and cannot be overcome?
