I'm pretty sure I already know the answer but the question is as above.
I don't use areas and the device column is only useful sometimes.
Most times I only use the states page to look at/for entity id's. So the two extra columns are just wasted space.
and what's worse part of the way I use that page is to filter entities and then copy/paste them into my config - either for example to exclude/include a list of entities in the recorder or list a bunch of entities in an entities card in the dashboard.
I use to be able to disable the attributes column and then just copy the whole page of text, paste it and then edit it. now I have more info (that I literally will never use) that I have to edit out so it takes me longer to do the same thing as before with zero other benefit.
If we can disable the attributes column then why not the other columns as well?
also the new way the names are displayed isn't very informative anymore.
it used to display the friendly name below the entity_id but now it just shows a truncated name the same way the device page does. Not very useful.
I noticed it the other day because I have a low battery notification that I've been using forever. two days ago I got a new battery notification that the "the Battery Level+ battery is low". When I went to look for the "Battery Level+" entity thinking I had just forgot to give the entity a proper friendly name I was greeted with a wall of "Battery Level+" entity names. Obviously not very useful for troubleshooting.
How is this better?
I wish the developers would take the way people use these tools for managing HA into consideration when they make these new UI updates.
