I’ve got a Hive SLR1c with the SLT6m and I’m using a scheduler via Zigbee2MQTT to manage the temps.
I’m going away for a while and plan to keep it on a low schedule to keep it ticking over, however last time I was away I lost connectivity with HA (I think there must have been a powercut?) and I’m wary of the heating being stuck in an invalid state while I’m gone. Basically if my schedule sets it to high, then HA turns off / stops communicating, the heating will stay on high indefinitely. I’m just wondering if anyone’s aware of a way I can stop this happening?
If you experience unstable power more often an UPS with NUT support might be a good solution. That way HA can find out when there is an outage and handle things accordingly before the UPS battery is empty. See HA NUT integration.
If it’s an internet connectivity issue you could create an automation that uses ping for example to find out if the internet is down and then HA could act accordingly.
