I bought this WiFi remote at the local Action store. I thought I could just add it to Tuya, and then use localtuya to integrate it in HA and use automation with the button presses as triggers. However, after reading the manual, I’m not so sure its possible.
It seems like the remote pairs directly with Tuya Smart bulbs, and that you can’t add it to the Tuya app as a separate “device”.
Does anyone know if I can use this remote with HA somehow? Thanks!
Unfortunately, that will not work. Tuya does pass the button events from their cloud, but their communication library is not passing them into Home Assistant. So we can’t act on it.
