Good evening every one. I have some Tuya Smart Water Valves since like last year. They sometimes work and sometimes they don’t. I thought it had something to do with signal quality but after updating the complete zigbee network the signal quality should no longer be a real issue.
I think there might be a firmware update that fixes it but sofar I’m not able to update the firmware it gives firmware unknown. Can any of you please give me some help.
Biggest issue that I get is the valve is turned on. And seems to be turned off but is still open. This costs me a lot of valuable water, so that needs to be fixed otherwise I better throw them away.

Tuya generally does not offer firmware because the firmware is built by the company releasing the device, not Tuya.
You could try one of the many custom Integrations for Tuya devices. They can be found in GitHub using the HACS interface.
I would agree with you there. But I can’t find any other sprinkler system which has nothing to do with Tuya. The only other option might be Gardena but theynise Bluetooth instead of zigbee which give range issues I’m afraid. Do you maybe know of any other?
There's the Sonoff SWV. Slightly better than Tuya since they make their own devices & firmware.
I don't own one, but there's at least 1 decent thread about them in the forum if you search. I recommend you have a proper read through it so you'll get an idea of what to expect.
I looked at many of these.
In the end I built my own, by using a 230V, 3-wire motorized valve for 25.- Euro and a Shelly 2PM (another 25.- Euro).
Works like a swiss clock - and it is fully local - no cloud or internet needed.
I run it on Wifi, but it also does BT, Zigbee and Matter.
You can do it even cheaper by using a magnet valve - but depending on your installation this may put an undue strain on your water pipes, so I wouldn't recommend that.
This could be an option, little problem that I have is that I don't know if I can get 230 at the position of the valve but I'll look into this. Thank you.
P.S. one question if you use the 2PM you can actually control two valves right?
No, the 2PM is used, to make sure that you cannot send an open and close command at the same time to the valve.
You have to use the 2PM in the roller/shutter mode - basically treating the valve like a shutter.
