Anyone using this Kiddie WiFi enabled hardwired smoke alarm? My house uses hardwired kiddie brand smoke and CO detectors. As well as the wireless interconnect for some non-hardwired detectors. I was using an older Z wave alarm sound detector, but it’s not reliable. So, when I saw these newer Wi-Fi detectors at Costco, they look like it might provide a means to connect the smoke alarms to Home Assistant. These are listing $75 each retail, but Costco is selling a two pack for US$100; either for the wireless or the hardwired devices. They’re Wi-Fi enabled and apparently use the Ring app. Either way, I may see if I can get these connected to Home Assistant. Costco has an excellent return policy if they’re not compatible. And I have no intention of using the ring app.
UPDATE:
I decided against this device after some additional research. The HACS integration noted in the thread is still cloud-based and I won’t use Ring for anything. My work shed has a First Alert ZOMBO smoke and CO sensor, but that model has been discontinued and won’t help with the main home detectors. My plan is to try a ZOOZ DC signal sensor connected to the existing home mains connected sensors. At least that could be used to send a notification through HA if the smoke alarms go off while I’m away from the house. And that signal sensor would be independent of a particular smoke sensor brand.
