Kinda newbie, can´t connect to webinterface

I have been running HA on a dedicated laptop for a couple of years. It´s an old Dell laptop I had laying around. Connected to ethernet and working great. But it is old an uses more power than needed. So I decided to install HA in VirtualBox on my M1 Mac Mini, also ethernet.
I setup the VM using the guide on the HA website, and the VM starts and I get into the HA CLI.
But I just can´t connect to HA in my browser. I have tried the http://homeassistant.local:8123 and homeassistant:8123 I haven even tried using the IP from devices from my router, which is 192.168.50.84 but still cannot get into it in my browser.

I just keep getting ERR_ADDRESS_UNREACHABLE

Try the ip of 192.168.50.84:8123

Make sure the IP address is correct and stick with that until you get it working. Did you use

http://192.168.50.84:8123

Are you using the IP of the machine running the VM, or of the VM itself. You want the latter.

From the terminal command line, can you 'ping' that address from the machine you are trying to connect to. (I'm on Linux but Mac should be similar).

Hope that helps.

Well, this is embarrasing LOL
BTW, adding the port didn´t work.
I was using Vivaldi. So I tried on the HA app on my phone and it found it right away. So I tried Safari on the Mac Mini and got in without any issues.
Really strange, cause I have set special permissions in Vivaldi for the URL that HA is using. But that doesn´t seem to have helped.
Anyway, all is good. Now I gotta spend a few hours setting everything up fresh.
Yeah I know I can restore the settings from my old server, but I might aswell start fresh with the newer knowledge I have gotten.

Nice one glad you got it working.

Yeah pinging the IP in terminal works fine. Seems to be Vivaldi that isn´t liking the VM for some reason. I have been using Vivaldi for years on the old HA setup without issues on both Linux, Mac and Microslop Windoze.

I have no experience of Vivaldi, but it could be you have a cache or similar there, pointing to your old ha
