Kinetic Light Receiver - WiFi Issue

Hi all, new here so hope this is in the right place, but looking to see if anyone knows what my issue is or has had similar problems.

I have 2 SKIN2 Kinetic WiFi light receivers that are connected through Tuya - I have used the Tuya integration and they worked fine for about 12 hours before becoming unavailable in HA (still work via Tuya app but looks to be blue tooth only)

I then used the Tuya Local IoT to try and see if this corrected the issue - but still, after about 12 hours they become unavailable and again only look to work with blue tooth in the Tuya app.

I then created static IPs for them via my router to see if this prevented the sudden drop in the WiFi as I had heard they could be having DHCP lease issues but again this didn’t fix the problem.

I then have to re-pair them with Tuya and start the integration again, they work for a bit and then drop and become unavailable again. The SKIN 2 support is basically a regurgitation of an AI generated response from a google search and I have tried all things I can think of, short of a hardware issues itself with this particular receiver, does anyone have any thoughts or is it likely I may need to get and integrate a bluetooth receiver in to HA?

Thanks in advance.
Mike

Do you have some evidence that it even has bluetooth? Turning off bluetooth from your phone drops the connection on tuya app?

Hi Karosm,

Thats correct, switching the bluetooth off drops it from the app when otherwise it works fine.

Another test: after confirmation of that everything would work in the Tuya app, turn off wifi on your phone (or turn off your home wifi router) (but don’t touch bluetooth) to kill the local wifi, and see whether the app would still be able to control the SKIN2.

I googled the product page, and (unless they have other versions) looks like they do not have bluetooth.

And, if there is indeed bluetooth, I guess your next step would be to figure out what the bluetooth address that your SKIN2 is broadcasting.
