I do have an issue with waking the unit from screen blanking (configured using the swayidle -w timeout 600 'wlopm --off \*' resume 'wlopm --on \*' & command noted on Github). 25% of the times I tap the screen, the unit wakes up normally but I am unable to scroll or operate by touching. I can still swipe from the side and use the widget to minimize and shut down Touchkio. Upon restarting Touchkio (with or without reboot) it works fine until a few wake cycles later. Anybody else experiencing this? Any ideas what could be the cause or how to troubleshoot this?

Are there any plans for Multi display support, or running 2 instances one per display So i can have my CCTV (frigate) on a monitor and HA dashboard on the touchscreen pi display 2.
I’d love to see this to allow me to fully utilize my PI5 with the Pi in the wall and a wall mounted monitor above it
Running two instances on the same machine is disabled by design.
Connecting two displays and turning them on/off with wlopm should work on the RPI, although it has not been tested.
When the doorbell rings, i want to switch Touchkio Dashboard to a Tab with a camera view. This works with page URL, but the whole Page is reloaded. Is it possible to switch the tab without loading the whole page?
Use a second page with the url pointing to the dashboard.
Alternatively you can install browser_mod addon.
Just put whatever card you use for the camera at the top of the Touchkio Dashboard and set the visibility based on your doorbell criteria.

Now i have implemented both answers: when the dashboard is not at the home tab, browser_mod switch to the home tab. The camera-card is only visible as long as a timer-helper is running. After that the card is not visible any longer.
Works fine with a pi4 and the older Pi-TouchDisplay
Another option to avoid a late reload is to put the camera card into a conditional card. Have it only activate while the doorbell is active. This way it will pop up on your dashboard and push the current content out of the way. Then disappear when not active again.
Hello, I’m quite new to Home Assistant, but I’m interested in this project. I want to build a Skylight Calendar using this (see this project: DIY Family Calendar (Skylight)). Can I use touchkio together with this? However I’m still deciding whether to choose for a tablet or a touchscreen monitor with a rpi5. I have my eyes currently on this monitor asus vt229h and this monitor iiyama prolite tf2234mc-b7x (which I could buy at a low price), but those touchscreen monitors both are not on the supported list. So will the turn display on/off MQTT sensor and remote keyboard work? Will the on screen keyboard work with the skylight calendar dashboard? Also for the presence sensor, which do you recommend for this?
Like I said, I’m quite new to all of this, so sorry for my “noob” questions.
I also still need to install the Mosquitto MQTT add-io and install the MQTT integration in home assistant.

The keyboard and display brightness control will probably not work on these monitors because the connection is HDMI.
It is best to choose a monitor that has a DSI connection and let it run on Rpi4 or 5. Everything is built on Linux, so Rpi is the best choice.
The whole thing works as a web page viewer and it doesn’t matter what you send it. It can run on any machine on which Linux is installed, but sometimes with limitations of some sensors, keyboard and display brightness control. The on/off button to turn off the display always works.
I built TouchKio on an old Zotac mini PC zbox pi320 and it also works, but I don’t have an on-screen keyboard and smooth backlight control.
I am using an iiyama touch screen together with a nanopi R76s running Lightweight Ubuntu 24.04 with GNOME and Wayland.
I only added touchkio to this and its working fine except:
- display brightness control is not working
- on screen keyboard is working by swiping up from the lower screen side

I have now use Touchkio for a month and works very well with Pi4 with 2GB Memory and Pi Touchscreen 2. The only issue I’m experiencing is that I add Wallpanel to a seperate dashboard (to act as a screensaver), so after 5mins of inactivities (changes to page 2 url), screensaver kicks in, that works, but I have a clock in it, and the time is always random. I have checked the Raspberry Pi settings, it is correct i.e. GMT, but the clock time does not reflect that settings, and is always random when screensaver is kicked in - Any idea’s/solutions as to fix this?

I am greatly indebted to leukipp for ‘Touchkio’ which I installed on a Dell OptiPlex 3040 with a ViewSonic TD2423 24-inch Touchscreen. Although this thread is more aligned with the Raspberrypi I thought it worthwhile to put a link here for those researching alternative HA dashboards on a touchscreen using ‘Touchkio’.
@leukipp I noticed that some TouchKio entities disappeared from HA which were initially being displayed (just as shown on the Github page here).
Missing Controls are App Status (e.g. Up-to-date), Page Number, Reboot & Shutdown buttons (but not ‘Refresh’), Volume and also several items in the ‘Sensors’ section.
Any idea what could cause this? I initially followed the setup procedure provided on the Github page and have not made any customizations.
