The UI based entities for a KNX thermostat include a field for the Valve position % GA. However, this value is not displayed in the UI for the thermostat.
I don’t see an option anywhere to configure what values are displayed.
Hi
!
It’s a custom Knx value. This is stored as an extra state attribute on the entity. You can see it at the details page of the more info dialog.
The standard climate entity model doesn’t have any field for that - so this also isn’t supported by any default frontend climate element.
Thanks, that explains it. I had missed it in the details page as it’s called “Command value” on my heating controller - which is not very intuitive, and it’s not cold enough here yet for any zone to be calling for heat, so it just showed as 0.
I’ll try creating a template sensor for it.
This is what worked for me:
template:
- sensor:
- name: "Attic Landing Valve Position"
unique_id: attic_landing_valve_position
unit_of_measurement: "%"
state_class: measurement
icon: mdi:valve
state: >
{{ state_attr('climate.attic_landing_thermostat', 'command_value') | float(0) }}
availability: >
{{ state_attr('climate.attic_landing_thermostat', 'command_value') is not none }}
