Hi there,
I’ve got a an old Scantronic 9450 Home Alarm (see photos here: Imgur: The magic of the Internet ). It’s working well - was serviced recently and in good working order. I’m not planning to replace the alarm, but I have been looking at installing a smart alarm conversion kit (see here: Smart Alarm Conversion Kit: Make Wired Burglar Alarm Smart | SmartThings | eBay ).
The manual for the home alarm I have is here: https://www.alarmsyork.co.uk/members_area/scantronic_alarms/9450.pdf
The installation looks fairly straightforward.
I gather though that using it this way means that existing keypad on the alarm becomes redundant. Is that right? Does this mean the options are therefore (I’m in the UK):
-
Use mobile phones as a keypad (either de-alarm using the phone or use geofencing)
-
Setup a tablet in the house on a wall near the entrance to de-alarm.
Are there any other options?
Thanks.
