Konnected Is Embracing ESPHome

I run Konnected Pro to monitor my hard wired alarm system and it can also arm and reset remotely. Konnected integrates into HA. It all works and I run automations from sensor changes.

Konnected have just announced full support for ESPHome and as a preferred firmware to their own. I am a bit loath to change what works, but I am an ESPHome junky and now know my way around. Some may take the plunge and share?

Personally my first inclination would let someone else be the guinea pig.

But then again I like to fiddle, so it would be tempting.

Have you guys given it a try? I started testing things with a spare board that I had but I simply do not know how to work with ESPHome.
The basic setup exposes all of the zones which is great but I would like to do some basics like change the beep pulse time and pause time or create an automation straight in ESPHome to get the warning beep every time a door/window is opened. I have no idea where to start. I read some materials on Konnected’s website and looked into ESP’s wiki but the easiest would be to see an example configuration from someone who is more experienced. I feel that it is a lot easier to understand things when I can see a working example and then just modify it.

The configs are on github. GitHub - konnected-io/konnected-esphome: ESPHome firmware configuration and recipes for Konnected devices

I have it on my rainy day list of things to do… Konnected is working but I was going to revisit adding EOL resistors for each zone to stop the open doors etc bouncing and showing up on HA as floating states. GitHub is useful and it would be nice to have it as ESPHome as I almost understand how it all works!
