I just installed the Kronoterm integration and it looks great!
However, I’ve already committed mylself to also setting up the modbus integration and since I’m also planning on using modbus to perhaps connect other devices in the near future, I really want to see my Kronoterm heatpump also working via modbus.
I’ve connected my Kronoterm WPG-18-2 HT to channel 1 on a Waveshare USB to 4CH RS485 converter - and I can’t get modbus to work
I have Home Assistant OS running on a Raspberry Pi 4. As far as I understand, the fact that I have HA OS and not HA Supervised or HA in Docker is the reason it’s not working - because HA OS doesn’t allow it.
So, what other options do I have (that don’t involve starting from scratch with a fresh install of HA as a different installation type)? Or is my best bet to migrate everything over to HA Supervised?
Are other connections via modbus also this difficult?
I have the same issue with my old heatpump. I thought maybe the modbus adresses are different, not starting at 2000. I went through them from the start with QModMaster. I get values that make some sense on locations from 0 - 1517. By comparing the values on my heatpump display I managed to find a few variables:
570 - Outside temperature - zunanja temperatura
571 - HP outlet temperature - dvižni vod
998 - Compressor temperature - temperatura kompresorja
999 - Evaporating temperature - temperatura uparjalnika
997 - DHW temperature - bojler
Now I get at least these values correctly into my HomeAssistant .
The values/modbus locations are not in the same order as those that start at 2000 in newer heatpumps.
Does anyone have modbus address list for these obviously ancient heatpumps? Will have to check with Kronoterm.
Hi, oh that sounds great!
I stoped working on it, because I couldn’t find the right adress list.
I will check yours, hopefully they will work.
I was also in contact with Kronoterm, unfortunately the conversation stopped.
Now I can confirm, that I also get some “good” values in the mentioned regions.
@OldFox could you please share the documentation also with me?
Thank you!
As already explained here Kronoterm heat pump integration - #69 by kosl, you can run kronoterm2mqtt outside HA OS in a separate VM or host. I run it on a separate Raspberry Pi 3. This one then connects to HA Mosquito over MQTT.
I hope this helps. I also had to read the documentation and these posts a couple of times to realize what to do…
Hey, I’m trying to get modbus to work, but I’m getting no response when reading register on address 2000, also tried couple of other addresses with no luck:

Did anyone had similar issues, I have Hydro C 2 + Adapt 0416-K3 HT / HK 3F
