Before I applied the last core update, my default thermostat card was working perfectly. The semi circle you use to indicate the (new target) temperature had an orange colour, and the back of where the temperature is displayed changed from grey (idle) to orange (when heating).
Now, with 2026.1.2 applied, the entire thermostat card only has gray and white colors, and no color changes when going from idle to heating.
Functionality does same to have stayed the same though, since asking for a higher temperature than the current temperature does make the displayed text go from idle to heating (and v.v.).
So why the sudden change in how the card is displayed, and more important, can I get the original view back ?
Perhaps you already tried it but did you clear the frontend cache after the update?
Thanks,
It’s working again now.
I did 2 things (bad practice, I know…).
Indeed I cleared the cache, but I also noted an extra setting that only shows when you click on the 3 dots, and scroll down. There is a button called mode, and I set that to Heat. Can’t remember that that button was there before, but anyway, all is working as expected again.
Ah glad you solved it
Good that it got solved!
Also: please take the time to mark the post that holds the answer.
You do that by selecting the three dots under the post:
![]()
Then select the check box:
![]()
By doing so:
- this thread can be useful to other users as well (this thread comes up as solution when starting a thread which is similar to yours).
- this prevents that someone else steps in trying to help
Thanks for giving back to the community! ![]()
