Last updates breaks AirPlay reliability in Music Assistant

Hey,
Yesterday I’ve updated Home Assistant and Music Assistant to last version (MA 2.5.0).
Sadly, now, the Music Assistant is in pain to Airplay to several devices at the same time. The music is not at the same time on each speakers (HomePods and HomePods Mini).
Anyone else with similar issues?

I am having similar issues with airplay. For me it is unusable, will play for 20 seconds then stop for 20 seconds and then play again, I think the players are also out of sync. I am going to try and restore from backup now and see if that fixes it.

I figured it was a network issue as I have had similar problems with my wifi before, but airplay seems to work fine directly from my phone.

-edit: definitely the update, restored from backup and it is working again. I am re-installing the April HA and HAOS updates but I doubt those will break it.

Yes I also put the backup back and it’s better, they are playing at same pace again.
That said, sometimes I have some loss, and it seems more frequent than before, not sure if any HA changes are also affecting.
But overall it works again.

Try the 2.6.0 beta and see if that fixes it

I think I’m having the same issue. Can you point me in the right direction of how to get the beta updates?

Do you know if the Stable release 2.5.2 has this fixed (Airplay playback pauses)?

There are a number of enqueueing fixes. You can update and try it out.

Airplay still frequently pausing with 2.54, I will wait till 2.6 goes stable release before updating. It was nice that Music Assistant asks if you want to backup before updating, after I found the restore function in the home assistant menus it restored easily. It was better then just restoring my VM (daily backups) because it only rolled back music assistant and not my entire home assistant.

I agree the backup option is super.
But sadly the last version I’ve tried was still not good, I reverted again.
Will try next update.
