Hi, anyone else having an issue updating 2026.5.4 Home Assistant Core? My Virtual machine freezes and wont recover, tried several times.
Do you use Riot Vanguard anti cheat kernel level software on this machine?
If so it could be the issue.

No, no such software on the machine. My son set up a mini PC with a Virtual Machine and I tried rebooting a few times, the VM started and when tried the update again it has now knackered the VM and it doesn't do anything now. Given my son is in the the opposite end of the world I now have nothing and don't now how to recover it. Not a happy person.
Also, if I go into the Virtual Machine resource view on the little PC it states HA_VM paused but it cannot be restarted. Any ideas?
Can you provide an image of what you are seeing?
Hi. Thanks for the support. So I mentioned my son was at the other side of the world, but reckoned he was not yet asleep, so requested some telephone support! It transpired that the hard disc, which is pretty small, had become full and the VM could not run let alone update. So a bit of clearing out was done and it is back up and running. I never thought to look at that myself. I now have the promise of a much bigger machine available to me which will be dedicated to HA. So my bad this time......!
