I’ve built an integration for tracking my League of Legends account through Riot’s official API, and it feels like I’m at the point where I have something that others might find useful. You can view the repo here:
This uses the Riot API to scrape account statistics – games played this split, LP, rank, currently-in-game, etc. and wires them to sensors. There’s no historical component like you might see on op.gg or u.gg, just a current point-in-time that can be used to drive automations. I’m currently using it to set a specific scene in my gaming room when I queue up, and to send alerts to my phone when one of my buddies starts a game in case I want to spectate or duo afterwards.
Please note that setup requires a permanent Riot API key. I was able to get one immediately just by registering a personal project on the Riot Developer Portal. If you don’t register, you get a key that expires after 24 hrs and that won’t work with this.
Hope somebody else finds this useful!
