Lefthand sidebar order

At the bottom of the LH sidebar are the 3 options, Notifications, Settings and the currently logged in user that always used to be at the bottom which made sense to me.

To the best of my knowledge, that section cannot be re-ordered, but a while ago (several updates) I noticed a change in the order of those 3 items. Not a big deal so thought little of it.

However, since then, the order keeps changing. Not every day, but if I need to access one of those 3 options, I need to check carefully the current order before clicking as their position is inconsistent and keeps changing.

What does control the order of these 3 options? I do not mean the dashboards above the divider line, just these system generated ones below, for which there seems to be no user control but they do change.

I guess I don’t really care which order they are in (although user at the bottom, the way it used to be makes most sense to me), but I do want them to stay put. Why do they sometimes change order and how can I stop it?

Click and hold on the Home Assistant words in the upper left, and all your questions shall be answered…

I’m pretty sure you can’t reorder the things the OP is referencing. At least I can’t.

it’s the “settings”, “notifications” & “user” I believe they are talking about.

But OTOH, I don’t think I’ve seen those things change aside from once a few releases ago removing “developers-tools”. Otherwise everything is still where it’ always been.

Seems related to this. I have not noticed it in my setup but there are several reports there.

I just had Claude Code add Developer Tools and Zigbee2MQTT links back in in the left nav bar.

At some point I might get round to removing all the stuff I don’t use like, Energy, Map and Todolists.

Edit
So under your profile (its a per user setting), you can hide all the stuff you are not using which cleans up the sidebar considerably:
