Letsencrypt addon dns configuration?

so for domain i put the domain i have, mysubdomain.domain.com, as the example,
for email i just put my email
what do i put for dns? do i leave it blank?

So If I have port 80 open I don’t need to? Also, if I already added all my devices with a certificate that in the ssl folder, that I generated with the raspbian base operating system ,(not the docker home assistant image) will that make me have to re-add all my devices? Because that took forever on account of it adding, literally all my devices and helpers. I mean better to have and not need then need and not have, but it took about 30 minutes because it wasn’t even alphabetized (thanks google.) Just trying to see if I’ll have to go and do that again.

Why should you need to re-add all your devices? That has absolutely nothing to do with each other.
Read up on SSL and how it all works, before you open a port on your router and expose your network to the world.

How am I supposed to know what google checks and doesn’t dude, I’m just making sure that google isn’t going to see another certificate made by another operating system for all intents and purposes, since the device the HA instance is on is docker, and refuse to do anything until I delete everything and re-add it. Seems like a valid question.

plus idk if its gonna stick the certs in the SSL folder either, which if it doesnt ill have to figure out how to do that automatically.

What has google to do with this? Are you talking about google assistant?
You opened like 4 topics about SSL now in less than 24 hours, be patient and tackle one thing after the other.

Here’s a guide on how I setup swag, which gives you a reverse proxy, automatically renewed SSL certificates and fail2ban. You don’t need to mount your SSL certificates to the Home Assistant container as SWAG manages it all for you.

is there any way to just have the letsencrypt addon simply add the certs to the ssl folder though? like through its configuration just have it automatically add them to that particular location?

The letsencrypt addon saves the certs in the ssl folder.

oh. well thats super convenient, awesome. im definately gonna look into the reverse proxy as that could make it possible to shorten the domain considerably and make it easier for other people to access their dashboard. thanks you.
