Hi all,
I’ve built a custom integration + companion automation blueprint that brings Luxembourg’s fuel prices into Home Assistant.
Background
Luxembourg sets a single national maximum price per road fuel by ministerial regulation. When the price changes, the new figure is published the evening before it takes effect (usually ~18:00). LëtzFuel HA turns that into something actionable: current price, history, trend — and, the main reason I built this, a same-evening heads-up so you can decide whether to refuel tonight before the price goes up, or wait if it’s dropping.
Features
sensor.*_price— current price per tracked fuel (Diesel/SP95/SP98), incl. or excl. VATsensor.*_change— signed move at the last price change (€/L + %)sensor.*_trend— rising/falling/stable over a configurable windowbinary_sensor.price_change_pending+sensor.*_price_tomorrow+sensor.refuel_recommendation— the core “should I refuel tonight?” logic, using the next-day price announced ahead of time (petrol.lu only publishes it once it’s already in effect, so the integration also reads RTL.lu’s earlier announcement)letzfuel_ha_price_change_announced/letzfuel_ha_price_changedevents for your own automations- Vehicle analytics: full-tank cost, refill cost, cost-change sensors (tank size + fuel level, manual slider or read from another entity)
calculate_fill_cost/calculate_trip_costresponse services- Long-term statistics backfilled on setup
- Repair issues if the source goes stale or unparseable
- 4 languages: English/German/French/Lëtzebuergesch
Notifications
A ready-to-import automation blueprint covers next-day price alerts, “new price in effect”, the refuel recommendation, and a price-threshold watch — every type opt-in, with per-type priority (including critical, to bypass DND), a device picker (no notify service to hand-configure), and an experimental iOS Live Activity / Android Live Update showing a countdown to the midnight price change.
Still in beta — bug reports, feature ideas and feedback very welcome, especially if you’re in Luxembourg (or cross the border for fuel) and can test it against the real thing.
