I have a bunch of these. I have two in the garage. The other day, I had to turn off power to the garage. When I turned it back on, one of the switches came back up in the state it was in before I turned off the power while the other one came up “off”. This device happened to have an older firmware than the other. Even after bringing it to the same level as the other one, it still behaves this way. I can’t seem to find any documentation that shows if this behavior is configurable or not. Any info on this?
Bump
There have to be others who have these switches…
Did you try factory resetting the switch and re-including it?
Actually no, I didn’t try this. I guess I probably should. Good suggestion.
Ok, I excluded it, factory reset it, then included it. No change. It always defaulted to off when power was reapplied. I happened to have a spare of this exact switch. If always defaults to on. In fact, I played with another installed switch and mostly it defaulted to off but once it came up as on when I plugged it back in.
At this point, it seems that the behavior is inconsistent. I can’t imagine why. I’m stumped :).
